Luxury Tuscany Villa between Florence & Siena in the Chianti Classico Region of Greve with Swimming Pool

Stay in a luxury Tuscany villa between Florence and Siena, Italy in the Chianti Classico region near Greve. Enchanting with lovely landscapes and hills around, this luxury Tuscany villa is about 5 kms in the hills above the quaint market town of Greve in Chianti. Greve is within easy reach of the historic towns of Florence and Siena. Greve has great food and wine shops and is wonderfully equipped for all needs. Being close to Montepulciano and Montalcino, this luxury villa is also close to the other hill towns of Tuscany, like San Gimignano and Castellina-in-Chianti.

Renovated recently by English and Italian architects, this luxury villa has 6/7 bedrooms with 6 bathrooms. With three bedrooms at the first floor level, two of the bedrooms are south-facing double-bedded rooms with lovely views. Both these bedrooms have ensuite shower and bathrooms. The higher level has a third double-bedded room furnished in the Tuscan style with a fireplace and bathroom with bath. This can be reached through a dressing room with 2 additional single beds. On the ground level there are two more bedrooms. One of the bedrooms has an en suite bathroom (with bath), and another small room has two single beds, the occupants of which can make use of the downstairs cloak/shower room. There is a charming kitchen with a quaint inglenook fireplace in a dining area with a double height ceiling. A huge table here seats 12-20 people with a gallery above and a traditional Tuscan fireplace. This is in front of the big inglenook fireplace that is used for winter fires or summer grills. The dining room opens out to a charming terrace area with views of the verdant forests.

The villa is situated at a height of 610 meters and enjoys a lovely climate with green hills all around. The villa is surrounded by terraces of olive trees and a delicate oak and chestnut forest, a lively little stream flows continuously throughout the year at the bottom of the valley. The pool and the granary overlook the silver green terraces on all sides.

The villa houses 12-14 guests with a clear and good water supply from a 200 meter deep well and spring and strong electricity supply. The villa is quipped with all modern amenities and facilities that include a laundry area with washer and dryer, dishwasher, stereo CD hi-fi system and satellite TV with video player. The kitchen is well maintained with five hob gas cooker, electric ovens, dishwasher and deluxe refrigerator and freezer with ice maker, a food processor and juicer. The kitchen surfaces are finished in elegant travertine with a carved stone sink. Equipped with necessary pots, pans and serving dishes, the kitchen also has a stereo CD system.

With well-thought of equipment, the villa has an outdoor bread oven and BBQ near the pool beyond the granary for cooking al fresco lunch or dinner meals for a large number of people by the pool. The swimming pool is cool and inviting with dimensions of 20 X 40 feet with a depth that ranges from 3-12 feet. There is a big loggia and a wisteria and jasmine vine covered dining area by the pool equipped with working wood-fired ‘forno’ or bread oven for outdoor cooking. This allows pizzas, vegetables and meat to be cooked quickly or slowly, imparting a wonderful taste and flavor to all foods. The pool and pool terrace also has excellent night lighting.

The pool has comfortable amenities surrounded by a terrace with loungers, deck chairs and umbrellas with a spectacular view of a hilly landscape and valleys.

The villa’s bedrooms are large, comfortable and luxuriously furnished in the Tuscan style. All the bedrooms have great views and are ideal for a honeymoon or for families. Almost all the bedrooms are ensuite with bath or shower, toilet and bidet adjoining some of the rooms. There are two bedrooms next to each other that can form a suite with one of the bedrooms that is very large with a double bed and a smaller one with two single beds that share a bathroom. Most of the bedrooms have double beds, and in two rooms there are two single beds per room. There are six bedrooms in the main house and one double bedroom en suite in the adjacent granary with a softly undulating walk to the pool. The villa can be accessed from Greve through an old gravel road that goes up the mountain winding through olive plantations and vineyards. A Land Rover Discovery is available for hire for guests who occupy the holiday villa at a cost of £500 per week.

The renovated Granary to the east of the villa has a lovely peaceful and serene sitting room upstairs with a sound system. With a grand view at all times from three sides of the room, the sitting room is cool and airy even on the warmest days. Spiral stairs lead down to the downstairs sixth/seventh bedroom has a bathroom with shower. There is a terrace from this bedroom that leads down to a path up to the pool lined with borders of fragrant and colorful lavender and rosemary that goes up to a door leading onto the front terrace.

Tourist Attractions: It takes about 40 minutes from Florence and about an hour from Pisa to reach this luxury villa.

General Info: This luxury villa can accommodate up to 14 people. There is a gardener/handyman and a cleaner. We also have a local agent who is fluent in 6 or 7 languages. There is a Cook available on request.
