the Tuscan farm holidays in a lovely cottage in Tuscany
near Massa Macinaia, Lucca. Structured as part of a
big working farm, the holiday cottage is just a short
fifteen minute drive outside the walls of the ancient
town of Lucca, Tuscany. Comfortable and cozy, this cottage
is created as a home away from home since 1982. Belonging
to an American family, the cottage has been renovated
to include and enjoy great amenities.
Description: Created
as a country house in the 15th century, the cottage
is perched on a high terrace overlooking gardens and
the Apuane Alps in the distance. Restored to its original
perfection in 1999-2000, the cottage has its own independent
access and parking. Covered in an innovative manner
with fragrant and green arbors, the 52-foot swimming
pool is next to the cottage. The area around the pool
is furnished suitably for al fresco dining and relaxing.
The private garden terrace includes an additional outdoor
dining area. With convenient maid service provided twice
a week, the cottage amenities include a telephone and
fax to facilitate the needs of the guests. With central
heating, the cottage is available for rent throughout
the year. The cottage is ideal for a lovely and memorable
holiday besides offering the beauty of the seasons,
particularly January with sunny days and temperatures
in the 50s. The guests can enjoy Spring in February
when flowers bloom and the camellias come out in all
their splendor. The festival times are the brightest
and can be experienced first-hand at this beautiful
cottage during Easter, Christmas and the New Year.
GROUND FLOOR: The ground
floor has a great kitchen with a delightful eating area
offering a gourmet range, a microwave and modern appliances
to enhance and facilitate easy cooking. A central door
on the ground floor gives access to the kitchen-cum-dining
area. The kitchen is big and airy with a table that
is large enough for six people. Custom made with all
amenities including a dishwasher, the kitchen is created
like a country kitchen with the latest Smeg oven and
cook top. The kitchen has a white Cararra marble work
counter. The kitchen in this lovely cottage is charming
with two antique credenzas which house the dishes and
other equipment, and there are two outdoor eating areas,
one on the front terrace, and the other by the swimming
pool.
Laundry: There is a
corridor from the kitchen with a small and neat service
bathroom. There is a separate laundry room on the corridor
which has a washer, dryer and ironing facilities. A
large shower is near which serves as a changing room
for the pool and there is also a bar with a small refrigerator.
Sitting room: The kitchen
connects to the big and well furnished sitting room
that has 2 sofas, a working fireplace and antique furniture
from Lucca's neoclassical period. A flight of stairs
from the sitting room leads to the first floor.
FIRST FLOOR: The upper
floor offers two deluxe double suites, private and independent
of each other, with full baths, showers and tubs. Both
suites have TV and are furnished in the Tuscan style
being big, bright and airy.
Queen Suite: Luxurious
and comfortable, the Queen Suite is provided with a
studio room and private bathroom. There is a study in
the Queen bedroom with French doors that add to the
lighting. The bed has mosquito netting and is furnished
with excellent bed linen. The suite is air conditioned
and has a TV. The studio room has a desk, comfortable
furniture and a unique iron sofa. The bathroom is provided
with a bath with shower and tub.
Twin Suite: The Queen
Suite is connected to the Twin bedded suite through
a corridor that is well furnished with antique furniture.
The Twin bedded room with two three-quarter beds is
provided with mosquito netting, TV and a desk and is
air conditioned. The bathroom is provided with bath
with shower and tub.
This lovely and comfortable cottage welcomes discerning
travelers and holiday makers and is available for rent.
Being furnished and well maintained with the highest
quality standards and pristine surroundings, the cottage
has the highest quality accommodations in an atmosphere
of exceptional beauty. The cottage has beautiful well
manicured and famous gardens that are visited by horticultural
enthusiasts from around the world. The wine and oil
produced on the sixty-acre estate are held in high esteem
throughout the region for their excellence.
Tourist Attractions:
Small grocery within walking distance, supermarket in
a 10 minute drive, 1/2 hour to sea, 15 minutes to Lucca,
1 hour to Florence, 30 minutes to Pisa, 15 minutes to
the Autostrada.
