in the rich and royal past in a Tuscany luxury castle
in Sovicille, Siena with Swimming Pool. The area of
Sovicille is known as the Montagnola Senese opens out
to a lush forest and tiny medieval hamlets set in picturesque
surroundings. As you go through the Square in Sovicille,
the road leads to this great luxury holiday castle.
An iron gate on the piazetta opens in to a small courtyard
with arches and a staircase made of typical white travertine
stone that leads to the main level of the Castle. The
living area evolves over the first two levels. The third
level has an unfurnished watch tower. The luxury castle
is furnished and adorned with valuable antiques including
gold leaf finished Baroque pieces, family heirlooms
and comfortable sofas. The 12 bedrooms are of various
sizes and stylish decor. Each bedroom has its own bathroom.
Out of the 9 bedrooms on the second level, 6 have air-conditioning
and 8 have window screens. The main level has the most
accessible bedrooms and bathrooms. Several bedrooms
have wonderful views and some overlook the natural park.
The kitchen is modest for a home that sleeps 24 people,
but very well equipped with all amenities and facilities
with only a couple of people being able to cook at one
time. Many rooms overlook the property's park, the town
of Sovicille and beyond to the gently undulating Montagnola
countryside.
A holiday at the luxury castle in Tuscany countryside
takes you back into the mists of time with the echoes
of history sweeping through every nook and corner. As
you enter, you will be met with a wonderful sight of
a long gallery displaying portraits of painters. The
sunlight bounces off a shining century-old terracotta
floor. As one airy spacious room evolves after another
you will find halls and drawings rooms in succession
decorated with swords and sabres. The foyer and the
living room are elegantly decorated with a lovely shining
Murano glass with paintings, candelabras and vases adorning
all the rooms. As you recline on a comfortable sofa,
the hands of time guide you back into a rich and colorful
past.
The Castle is designed as follows:
Main Level: There is
1 large foyer, 1 living room with a fireplace and doors
that lead to a small terrace. There is another living
room with TV, steps to the park and large terrace shared
with the restaurant and 1 large dining room. The single
small kitchen is furnished with stove top, oven, fridge
and dishwasher. There are 2 bedrooms each with two single
beds, 1 suite with one queen size bed, sitting area
and ensuite bathroom with tub and hand shower, 2 baths
with tub and hand shower. All the rooms are tastefully
furnished in the Tuscan style with lovely antiques and
objects d’art.
Second Level: The second
level opens out into a living room, 1 bedroom with two
single beds, AC, French balcony and an ensuite bathroom
with tub and hand shower. There are 3 bedrooms each
with a queen size bed and ensuite bathroom with tub
and hand shower (one with AC and another with AC and
an ornamental fireplace). There are 5 bedrooms each
with a queen size bed and ensuite bathroom with shower
(three with AC, on this level, the bedrooms without
AC have screened windows), 1 laundry room with washing
machine and dryer. All the rooms are tastefully furnished
in the Tuscan style with lovely antiques and objets
d’art.
Third Level: 1 unfurnished

Right outside the front entrance is the main square
of the medieval section of Sovicille. The village of
Sovicille is over 1,000 years old with this palazzo
built on the ruins of an 11th century castle with some
of the old castle walls still intact. This luxury holiday
castle has the convenience of being in a small town
where the guests can walk to the restaurant, the grocery
store or simply explore the town. Outdoor markets are
held on the first and third Tuesday of the month. Adjacent
to the castle is a restaurant owned by one of the caretakers.
It shares a terrace with the castle. You may choose
to dine there or enjoy al fresco dining on your private
side of the terrace. Restaurant meals can be catered
and delivered to the castle with a set-up fee.
Hiking and walking trails are found throughout the
area. The thermal baths in Bagni di Petriolo are within
a 30-minute drive. In the south of Siena in Rapolano
Terme, you will find two elegant thermal spas.
The castle can rented out for a minimum of 3 days ONLY
in the Low Season.
